What an amazing experience to work with the new generation for the WBAS Youth Band Festival 2016. It was a different perspective being on the panel for auditions – I am definitely more used to being on the other side, but it was refreshing! It was lovely to see the students working hard and having so much motivation to learn.

It was definitely an interesting experience performing Barry Cockcroft’s Rock Me (sharing a little of my takeaway from Melbourne). The students reacted well to it – they heard and enjoyed sounds they never knew were possible on the saxophone.

I look forward to more opportunities like this. I enjoy passing down what I have learnt abroad with my fellow Singaporeans.
